Pfeiffer University supports and encourages students to participate in a study abroad experience. Students who study abroad normally use third party, study abroad service providers. Three of the more well know companies are International Studies Abroad (http://studiesabroad.com/), the American Institute for Foreign Study (http://www.aifsabroad.com/), and the Council on International Educational Exchange (http://www.ciee.org/). ISA, AIFS, and CIEE offer a wide variety of academic programs all over the world. Visit their websites or stop by the Learning Center for information about specific programs.A variety of programs are available from one week community service projects to semester and year long academic opportunities.
These programs may carry academic or cultural credit based on prior approval. Study Abroad programs are available during the regular academic year, semester breaks, as well as during the summer.
Details on costs, application procedures, and credit may be obtained through The Study Abroad Office in the Learning Center. Study abroad may pose special academic challenges and risks due to the nature of cross-cultural education.
