How Will You Back the Black & Gold?
We believe that education changes everything, and your support is an investment in Pfeiffer’s future. These current initiatives impact academic and athletic program growth, scholarship assistance, facility and equipment upgrades, and other university-wide priorities.
The Pfeiffer Fund
It is through The Pfeiffer Fund that the University continues its long tradition of helping students to pursue a college education here, regardless of their financial limitations. The Pfeiffer Fund helps make that education affordable, providing assistance each year to more than 95% of our students. Most alumni have experienced the direct impact of a donation to The Pfeiffer Fund, and your support will pay it forward to a new generation of Falcons!
Every year, in the spring, the Pfeiffer community comes together to celebrate the university we love – the memories, the pfriendships, the experiences. On this annual day of giving, alumni donors also compete for the Freddie Cup. The alumni class with the highest Pfeiffer Day participation wins, and bragging rights are significant since the Freddie Cup is presented at Homecoming each fall.
In addition to giving, alumni can use their own donation to offer a match or issue a challenge, encouraging classmates to show their support and get involved. Who better than a team of Alumni Advocates to rally all Falcons in support of Pfeiffer Day?! Who better to help us all remember those life-changing professors, coaches, pfriends, classes, labs, games, rehearsals, late-night study sessions, club meetings, and more.
Pfeiffer. Is. Life. Changing.
Each year, alumni and friends demonstrate their loyalty to Pfeiffer’s future by giving $1,000 or more to The Pfeiffer Fund. These partners in leadership giving, who pledge to support the University at this level for five years, are recognized as members of Devoted & True. Their endorsement – by “Pledging Now, Paying Later” – is a comfortable and sustainable way to help the University address institutional priorities in a planned and predictable manner.
Lefko-Mills Field Upgrade
Pfeiffer University has completed a significant renovation to the soccer and lacrosse competition field, on the Misenheimer campus, renaming it Lefko-Mills Field, in honor of long-time soccer coach Nicholas E. Lefko ’37 and former lacrosse coach Randolph P. Mills, Jr. The current natural grass surface has been replaced with a state-of-the-art artificial turf surface that will cut field preparation time, improve field drainage, and allow for safer competition following periods of rainy weather.
A dedication ceremony is planned for Homecoming on October 19, 2024. Initial support allowed Pfeiffer to move forward with the upgrade, while University officials continue reaching out to former Pfeiffer soccer and lacrosse players to fully fund the project. New signage will be added to the field area, to recognize lead donors who have helped provide a premier surface on which to train and compete. Donors of $1,000 or more received by June 30th will be included on the new field signage.
Today, competition begins even before our student-athletes step onto the playing field. The Falcon Club provides special project funding for facility improvements and state-of-the-art equipment and technology upgrades, as well as support and enhancements for all of our athletic programs. Your annual Falcon Club membership strengthens the University’s history of excellence on the field and in the classroom.
The Endowment
Gifts to the the Pfeiffer Endowment offer a unique opportunity for donors with a deep regard for the future well-being of the University. The principal of an endowment fund is invested by Pfeiffer, and a portion of the annual earnings is used to support the cause subsidized, in part, by the fund. The remainder of the earnings is reinvested to grow the principal of the fund.
Endowed gifts can establish professorships, lectureships, program endowments, or endowed scholarships. An endowment gift today will continue to benefit the University and its students, year after year. To learn more about establishing an endowment, contact the Office of Advancement. To make a donation to an endowment that has already been established, send your gift to Pfeiffer with instructions for its designation.
Planned Giving & EPHS
Those who share our founder’s enthusiasm for Pfeiffer’s mission may consider investing in the University with a planned future gift, by naming the University as a beneficiary in their wills or by utilizing other various estate planning means to support Pfeiffer. Once an estate gift is documented, benefactors are recognized as members of the Emily Prudden Heritage Society.
Emily Prudden Park was created in 2017, on the north side of the Misenheimer campus in front of Jordan Hall, as a place of recognition for EPHS members. The courtyard surrounds the bronze likeness of Emily Prudden and also provides a place of reflection for students, faculty and visitors to campus. EPHS members who are celebrated by Prudden Park will be remembered as the University’s partners in an ongoing legacy of education, ministry and service.

University libraries must evolve to remain relevant for the needs of today’s students. Pfeiffer’s Friends of the Library raise funding for technology upgrades, facility improvements, and online resources and services at the G.A. Pfeiffer Library, through an annual membership appeal and special programming through the year.
Friends of the Library members receive an early opportunity to purchase tickets for all Meet the Author events, while supporting the growth of the University’s library through their membership donations.
