Undergraduate Transfer Students
You’ve experienced higher education before, and now you know what you’re looking for: a place to thrive. At Pfeiffer University, we make the transition seamless by offering generous credit transfers, dedicated scholarships, and a clear roadmap to your degree.
Why Transfer to Pfeiffer?
- Generous Credit Acceptance: Transfer up to 64 credits from a two-year college or up to 90 credits from a four-year institution.
- Maximize Your Past Work: We accept courses with a grade of C- or higher (C or higher for Nursing and Education majors).
- The North Carolina Advantage: If you have earned an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) or Associates in Applied Science (AAS) from a North Carolina Community College, your lower-division general education requirements are already met.
- Affordability: Special merit scholarships are available specifically for transfer students with 24+ transferable hours.
Admissions Requirements & Deadlines
Pfeiffer operates on a Rolling Admissions system, meaning we review applications as soon as they are complete. However, we recommend applying before the Priority Application Date of May 1 (to ensure space and housing availability).
Who is a Transfer Student? You are considered a transfer applicant if you have completed high school and attended another regionally accredited institution of higher learning. You must be eligible for readmission to the last college you attended.
How to Apply Checklist
- Submit Your Application: (make hyperlink text: https://go.pfeiffer.edu/apply-now/inquiryform)
- Send Official Transcripts: Request official transcripts from every college or university you have attended. Have them requested through Clearinghouse or Parchment.
- High School Records: Only required if you have completed fewer than 24 transferable semester hours.
- Secure Your Spot: Once accepted, a $150 tuition deposit is required to confirm your intent to enroll, allowing you to register for courses.
Evaluating Your Credits
We believe in transparency. You don’t have to wonder how your credits will count.
- Transfer Evaluation: Our team will show you exactly how your credits apply to your chosen major. Once you are accepted, you will receive a transfer evaluation form breaking down each course you have taken, what is transferring to Pfeiffer, and what the rest of your degree track will look like.
- Prior Learning & Testing: We award credit for qualifying scores on AP and IB (Higher Level) exams. You may also transfer up to 9 credit hours via CLEP testing.
- Residency Rule: To graduate from Pfeiffer, you must complete at least 25% of your total credit hours here, including 50% of your major/minor courses at the 200-level or above.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
Don’t forget to add Pfeiffer University to your FAFSA!
