Pfeiffer University has been accepted by the USA South Athletic Conference to begin the process of full membership within the Conference in a vote by the league presidents. Pfeiffer is currently in the process of reclassifying from NCAA Division II to Division III and will begin USA South play in the 2017-18 season.

Pfeiffer held its annual University Awards Ceremony today in the Chapel.  Among the many awards given out were ones to outstanding students in various majors, the Junior Scholastic Award and the Order of the Sundial Awards. Dr. Tracy Espy gave the welcome address and Dr. Keith began handing out the awards before giving way to the deans and leaders of the various departments.

Today Pfeiffer held its “Passages” program, which is a celebration of its first-year students completing the beginning phase of the Pfeiffer Journey.  One of the hallmarks of the Pfeiffer experience, Journey is a transformative four-year program integrating all aspects of college life — academics, student involvement, service opportunities and extracurricular activities.

Rev. Sherri E. Barnes has been named director of Pfeiffer University’s Youth Theology Institute (YeTI). An intensive two-week summer experience for theologically minded high school students supported by Lilly Endowment Inc.’s High School Youth Theology Institutes initiative, YeTI will launch this summer, July 10-24.

The Milton Rose Research Fellows Program provides scholarships and funding for outstanding students of science as they prepare for continued education in medical or graduate school. These fellows participate in research and internship opportunities that include research presentations at both the state and national level.

Over the weekend, Pfeiffer University’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) team delivered 14-first place, 10-second place and 11-third place finishes at PBL’s North Carolina state completions in Charlotte, N.C., where they competed against students from 22 colleges and universities.

From April 7-9, Pfeiffer University’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter will participate in the 2016 Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) state and national competitions at Hilton Charlotte University Place. The world’s largest career student organization, FBLA-PBL helps more than 250,000 members prepare for careers in business. (PBL is the collegiate division of FBLA.)
