Center for Health Sciences
The Physician Assistant Studies program is located at the Pfeiffer University Center for Health Sciences (CHS), a state-of-the-art facility in Albemarle, North Carolina, designed to support healthcare education and clinical training.
CHS features the Dr. Christopher Bramlett and Patricia Starnes Bramlett and F. Eugene Starnes, Jr. Center for Advanced Clinical Simulation Education, a premier Simulation Center that includes a surgical suite, two ICU suites, an emergency/trauma suite, a labor and delivery suite, and six standardized patient clinical exam rooms. Each suite is equipped with a high-fidelity, computerized human simulator. These immersive environments allow realistic, hands-on learning experiences that strengthen clinical competence and confidence.
The program also offers two dedicated, technologically advanced classrooms that elevate instructional delivery. Students gain practical experience in the Dickson Clinical Skills Laboratory, which houses an extensive array of skills task trainers, including ophthalmoscopic and otoscopic trainers, auscultation trainers, airway trainers, breast, and pelvic exam trainers, IV access trainers, and injection trainers. Additionally, the Gaither Gross Anatomy Lab provides vital hands-on opportunities for students to directly study human anatomy.
