When Alex Mendaloff graduated from Pfeiffer College in 1980, he was beginning a successful career that would involve the military, the law and public service. Recently, Mendaloff was awarded the Legion of Merit by the U.S. Department of the Army, and the North Carolina Distinguished Service Medal and The Old North State Award by the state of North Carolina.
Carolina Farm Credit’s Corporate Mission Fund has provided a $5,000 grant award to Pfeiffer University’s Hunger Relief Garden. The grant was provided in person by Andrea Griffin, a 1990 Pfeiffer graduate and loan officer with Carolina Farm Credit.
The Pfeiffer University Marriage and Family Therapy program is hosting an open house on January 5, 2018 at the Pfeiffer Institute Reach clinic in Morrisville, NC. Faculty and students will be available to answer questions about the program, discuss what it means to be a marriage and family therapist, and lead tours of the clinic facility. The open house will run from 11:00 a.m.
Pfeiffer University student Mandee Schaub has been recognized for outstanding leadership and service by North Carolina Campus Compact, a statewide network of colleges and universities with a shared commitment to civic engagement. Schaub is a recipient of the network’s Community Impact Award, which honors one student leader at each school.

The Stanly County Concert Band will present its Fall Concert on Thursday, Nov. 9, 7:30 p.m. at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center. Offered to the public free of charge, this concert will feature a variety of musical styles from traditional to modern classics.
