Senior Pfeiffer students gets real-life experience as intern with Misenheimer Police Department
Senior criminal justice major Shaffaq Usman will graduate in December, and when she does she will be well prepared for post-grad life. In addition to a comprehensive curriculum in the classroom, Shaffaq has the opportunity for experiential learning through an internship with the Misenheimer Police Department.

Upgrades advance Pfeiffer’s emerging role as a regional leader in health-related programs
The Charles A. Cannon Charitable Trusts, Concord, N.C., have awarded a $200,000 grant to Pfeiffer University, primarily for renovations to the lecture hall on the main floor of the Harris Science Building on its Misenheimer campus. Support for updating what is currently the campus’s largest learning space includes integrating state-of-the art technology into its infrastructure to enhance the teaching and learning experience for faculty and students.
Men's basketball team to compete against UNCC 49ers on Nov. 1
On Nov. 1, the men’s basketball team will kick off the 2012-2013 season with a trip to University City to compete against the UNC Charlotte 49ers at Halton Area, 9201 University City Blvd., Charlotte, N.C., 28223.
Pfeiffer senior Beth Kauffman honored for community service
Pfeiffer University senior Beth Kauffman is one of 17 students across the state to receive the 2012 Community Impact Award. Given by North Carolina Campus Compact, the award recognizes college students who make significant, innovative efforts to address local community needs.
Department of Nursing Class of 2014 receives white coats in preparation for clinical training
On Fri., Oct. 5, members of the class of 2014 from Pfeiffer University’s department of nursing received their white coats in a ceremony marking their preparation for clinical training in the region’s hospitals and medical centers.
