Mr. Roger L. Dick – Albemarle, NC
Roger Dick is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Uwharrie Capital Corp, the holding company for Uwharrie Bank. Credited with organizing the Bank in 1983, he has worked diligently to position the organization as a strong community partner dedicated to empowering communities across Stanly, Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Randolph counties to secure financial self-sufficiency.
Mr. Dick is a business graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and received his MBA, concentrating in finance, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He holds the FINRA Securities Registrations Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA), Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMC) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF).
Professionally, Dick holds membership in prestigious circles such as the North Carolina Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association.
He is also a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association and has been awarded the Association’s elite Certified Investment Management Consultant and Analyst Designations, and holds the distinction of Financial Investment Fiduciary (fi360).
In addition to serving on the Pfeiffer University Board of Trustees, Mr. Dick is currently serving as Immediate Past Chair of the Stanly County Community Foundation board of advisors. He is a former member of the Stanly Community College Foundation board of directors and previously served as the Vice Chairman of Central Park NC, an incubator for small business development based on the sustainable use of natural and cultural resources, encompassing Anson, Davidson, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Richmond, Rowan and Stanly counties.
Community and conservation are important to Roger Dick. He was recognized in 2011 as a Main Street Champion for his untiring efforts to support local revitalization and preservation projects and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship through Rotary International. In 2014, he was named Citizen of the Year by the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce and Water Conservationist of the Year by the North Carolina Wildlife Federation for his advocacy efforts for the protection and preservation of our natural resources.
