Mr. Roger L. Dick – Albemarle, NC

Roger L. Dick is President and Chief Executive Officer of Uwharrie Capital Corp, the holding company for Uwharrie Bank, Uwharrie Bank Mortgage, and Uwharrie Investment Group. A business graduate of Appalachian State University, Mr. Dick later earned his MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 registrations. He has earned professional designations including Certified Investment Management Consultant and Analyst (Investments and Wealth Institute), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (Fi360), and Accredited Trust Fiduciary Advisor (Campbell University).
In 1983, Mr. Dick led the organization and development of Uwharrie Bank. Since then, he has served as the driving force behind positioning the organization as a strong competitor in the financial services industry while maintaining a mission-driven focus on enhancing the well-being of the communities it serves.
Mr. Dick is a member of the North Carolina Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association, and previously served on the North Carolina State Banking Commission.
In recognition of his community leadership, Mr. Dick was named a Main Street Champion by the North Carolina Department of Commerce in 2011 and received the Paul Harris Fellowship through Rotary International. In 2014, he was honored as Citizen of the Year by the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce and received the NC Wildlife Federation’s Governor’s Award for Water Conservationist of the Year.
In 2017, he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Central North Carolina Council of Scouting America for his longstanding dedication to youth development through scouting.
Most recently, in May 2025, Mr. Dick received a Capitol Citation from North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, recognizing his decades of investment in North Carolina communities. That same year, Governor Roy Cooper awarded him the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest civilian honor bestowed by the State of North Carolina.
