Mr. David (Dave) J. McIlquham – Bradenton, FL
Originally from Canada and a 1977 graduate of Queens University (Ontario), David (“Dave”) McIlquham resides in Florida and has a residence in North Carolina. Professionally, Dave served General Electric Canada, the Samsonite Corporation, and Sealy Mattress Corporation. Among other roles, he served Sealy as CEO from 2002 until his retirement in 2008.
During an era in which Dave and his wife, Elaine, were residents of New London, NC, Dave took a real interest in Pfeiffer University and served Pfeiffer as a trustee. Dave’s roles included time on the Budget and Finance Committee and a successful tenure as Board Chair from 2012 until 2014. He even served Pfeiffer as Interim President for several months in between the Ambrose and Miller presidencies.
While he was a trustee, Dave and his family played an integral role in the launching of Pfeiffer’s Nursing program, and have endowed a scholarship in support of outstanding nursing students at Pfeiffer.
