Pfeiffer University’s Division of Education is hosting “Crypto Comics,” an after-school program designed to engage upper elementary students, particularly girls, in cryptology and cybersecurity.

Cryptology is the science of making and breaking codes. Cybersecurity is the science of keeping online information safe and secure.

Training camps for Pfeiffer University’s fall sports teams opened on Aug. 14 in anticipation of seasons that will begin by early September. Tony Faticoni, the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Pfeiffer, couldn’t be happier.

“I think all of us are really excited that things are going to be back to normal,” he said. “It’s exciting to be able to get a full season again.”

About two years ago, Ronnie*, who lives near Pfeiffer University’s Center for Health Sciences in downtown Albemarle, N.C., suffered a head injury and a stroke. He had trouble  keeping his balance, couldn’t speak, and had lost all use of his right arm.

Emily C. Prudden (1832-1917) lost her father when she was 8 years old, and she became almost completely deaf nine years later. Yet, in her early 20s, she became the surrogate mother of her deceased sister’s two young children and began caring for her own widowed mother.

It is with great sadness that Pfeiffer University announces the death on July 13 of Dr. Alan Randall (“Randy”) Clark, a former Associate Professor of Communications at Pfeiffer University. He was 64, living in Decatur, Georgia and working as an Associate Professor of Media Studies at nearby Clayton State University.
