Dr. Laura Lowder, Associate Professor of Education and past classroom teacher from Stanly County Schools will be leading The Curious Classroom Book Study, a book study open to current Pfeiffer students as well as practicing classroom teachers.
Coach John Francis Essic, 93, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2018. He was born May 29, 1925, in Davie County to the late John Frank and Mary Lois McMath Essic. He received his B.S. in Physical Education in 1948 and an M.A. in History in 1950 both from App. St. Teachers College.
On September 25th, the School of Business received the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society Charter from Rich LaMontagne, Region Three Representative and Board Member for Delta Mu Delta.

Pfeiffer University has been ranked among the 10 most affordable online master's in forensic accounting by Grad School Hub. The ranking was published on the organization's website in July.

The United States Department of Agriculture has approved Pfeiffer University's application for a USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan. The loan, which amounts to $34.5 million, will allow Pfeiffer University to begin and secure several specific initiatives. The process to secure the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan started in Fall 2016.
Due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Florence, all classes will move to online-only status and a voluntary evacuation will be effective Wednesday, September 12th at 6 pm. There will be no seated classes at the Misenheimer, Charlotte, or Raleigh campus after Wednesday at 6 pm. Students will be responsible for keeping up with coursework remotely whenever possible.
After welcoming one of the largest incoming classes in recent history for the 2017 - 2018 academic year, Pfeiffer University continues to grow. The 2018 - 2019 incoming undergraduate class has increased 10 percent over the previous year and is up 50 percent in a two-year comparison. In the same two-year comparison, overall enrollment on the Misenheimer campus has risen by 18 percent.
Pfeiffer University announces that Keith Caver will be the keynote speaker for the Opening Academic Convocation. Convocation will take place on August 31st, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in the Merner Gymnasium located on the Pfeiffer University campus in Misenheimer, North Carolina.
Kathleen is a native of Orlando, Florida and received her BA in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University in 1979. Following graduation, Kathleen served three churches in Albemarle, Morganton, and Charlotte as an educator with a primary focus in youth ministry and adult and family life. Kathleen completed an M.A.
