Pfeiffer University announces its programming and worship opportunities for Holy Week, starting with its regular Wednesday Chapel Service:

Wednesday, March 28th: Chapel with Rev. Ben Sloan at 10:00 a.m. in the Henry Pfeiffer Chapel on the Misenheimer campus. Rev. Sloan is the pastor of Bethany United Methodist Church in Albemarle. He will bring the message for this traditional chapel service, which will also feature the Pfeiffer Concert Choir.

Thursday, March 29th: The Pfeiffer community will join forces with Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church to participate in a night of remembrance of the acts Jesus performed on Maundy Thursday. Service is at 7:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church on Wesley Chapel Road. Transportation is available for Pfeiffer students.

Friday, March 30th: Pfeiffer will again join the congregation of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church for a prayer journey titled “Words From The Cross” from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is an individual activity for guided prayer and meditation.

Sunday, April 1st: Students and others are invited to join the congregation of Vortex in Albemarle for Easter Services and “Chicken and Church.” Students will meet in the lobby of Stokes Student Center at 9:30 a.m., worship together at Vortex and then eat chicken together at Bojangles.

From Wednesday through Sunday, all are invited to Walk the Labyrinth at Pfeiffer, next to the Henry Pfeiffer Chapel. Walking the labyrinth is a purposeful prayer walk and a catalyst for meditation and reflection. Participants are encouraged to be open to the Spirit’s movement during this time of sacred walking.
