The Friends of the Library (FOL) Virtual Book Club has chosen books that club participants will discuss via Zoom through the rest of 2021. To register for a club meeting, go to community.pfeiffer.edu/fol-bc.
A different title will be discussed on the first Monday of each month. The selections include works from one of the most celebrated of 20th-century American writers, more recent best-selling authors, a debut novelist, and a Pfeiffer University English professor. The schedule begins with Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury (April); Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens (May); and The Dearly Beloved: A Novel by Cara Wall (June). The club will not meet in July.
Later selections include The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah (August); Jean Laffite Revealed by Dr. Ashley Oliphant, an Associate Professor of English at Pfeiffer University, and her mother, Beth Yarbrough (September); and Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes (October). Karen Robards’ The Black Swan of Paris will be discussed in November during the final meeting of the year.
The club will convene at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, with the exception of April, when the club will meet at 7 p.m. on April 12.
