When Dr. Raushan Gross ’09 MBA was 11, he asked his mother for money to buy video games.
Gross, who’s now an Associate Professor of Business Management at Pfeiffer University, was turned down. “You’re going to have to learn the meaning of a dollar and the meaning of being able to work and provide for yourself,” he remembers his mother telling him.
The late Joseph S. Ferebee Sr., Pfeiffer’s legendary baseball coach, “was a remarkable teacher. He touched us all, and his lessons have lasted us a lifetime. We love you, Coach.”
Forthcoming business symposiums at Pfeiffer University may be presented via Zoom, even after the COVID-19 pandemic ends.
So says Dr. Sandra Holley, the principal organizer of this year’s event, called “School of Business Spring Symposium 5.0: Finding Your Own Path,” which took place on Feb. 15 and 16.

In 1959, Sandra Simpson Lisk ’63, then a freshman at Pfeiffer College, was singing in a school choir during a Wednesday morning service in Henry Pfeiffer Chapel. A student in the congregation – Bobby Lisk ’63, her future husband – was smitten.
Arsena Todd Schroeder ’11 and her future husband, Stephen Schroeder ’12, sensed early on at Pfeiffer University that they were destined to be together.
