Pfeiffer University mourns the loss of former director of admissions Elsie Lowder, who died June 30, 2019, at the age of 82. Joining the Pfeiffer community in 1981, Elsie eventually turned her focus to transfer and commuter students, as well as international students. She co-founded Pfeiffer’s Commuter Student Association, before retiring in 2003 as director of transfer admissions.

In a farewell reception for Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, Board of Trustees Chairman Bob Brietz announced that the Community Room located on the second floor of the Stokes Student Center will be named "The Keith Community Room" in honor of her tenure as president of Pfeiffer University.

Pfeiffer University mourns the loss of former trustee Elizabeth Phillips who died March 18, 2019 at the age of 87. She served as a long-time Pfeiffer trustee, concluding her board service in 2000. The Tom and Lib Phillips Bridal Room is located in the Henry Pfeiffer Chapel and honors her service as a trustee, and the couple’s generous support of the University.
March 1, 2019 (Misenheimer, N.C.) - Retired NASA Astronaut Joan Higginbotham will address Pfeiffer University students, faculty and staff March 18 at 10:00 a.m. in the Henry Pfeiffer Chapel. The event, which kicks off the institution’s third annual Arts and Sciences Week, is free and open to the public.
February 17, 2019 (Misenheimer, N.C.) - Pfeiffer University is saddened to share that Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, Pfeiffer's tenth and first female President, will be leaving her post as of May 31, 2019, to become the next President at Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware.
