Pfeiffer University celebrated the birth of Martin Luther King Jr. with a series of events over four days, offering students moderated discussions and multimedia experiences, including “Unity,” which Tasker Brown, a sophomore communications major, created for an art show.
Brina Bentley of Richmond, VA and David Chavarria of Asheboro, NC are working hard at Pfeiffer University with the goal of earning bachelor’s degrees next spring. But on a late afternoon last month, they took a break from their studies to participate in the “Get out the Vote Drive,” which was held for Pfeiffer students in advance of the November 3rd elections.
The consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic are creating some daunting challenges for Stanly County Christian Ministry (SCCM). These include increases in food insecurity caused by lost or reduced incomes as well as shortages of volunteers brought on by stay-at-home orders.
Fortunately, Pfeiffer University has been able to help the ministry weather this storm in three ways:
One of the most time-honored staples held by any university is their Literary Magazine. They are not only a gateway in which new and exciting individuals can come to discover Universities, but they are also a medium through which their community can speak through.
Pfeiffer University mourns the loss of former trustee Elizabeth Phillips who died March 18, 2019 at the age of 87. She served as a long-time Pfeiffer trustee, concluding her board service in 2000. The Tom and Lib Phillips Bridal Room is located in the Henry Pfeiffer Chapel and honors her service as a trustee, and the couple’s generous support of the University.
March 1, 2019 (Misenheimer, N.C.) - Retired NASA Astronaut Joan Higginbotham will address Pfeiffer University students, faculty and staff March 18 at 10:00 a.m. in the Henry Pfeiffer Chapel. The event, which kicks off the institution’s third annual Arts and Sciences Week, is free and open to the public.
Pfeiffer University announces that Keith Caver will be the keynote speaker for the Opening Academic Convocation. Convocation will take place on August 31st, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in the Merner Gymnasium located on the Pfeiffer University campus in Misenheimer, North Carolina.
