Falcon Club Golf Tournament: An Above Par Event for Alumni & Friends

IMG 7638resized2On April 30, Pfeiffer University's Falcon Club, Asheboro Elastics Corp. and alumnus Keith Crisco '64 co-hosted the annual Falcon Club Gold Tournament at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C.

This year's golf tournament was the most well-attended tournament to date, with 128 golfers and 32 teams registered.
The winning team consisted of Keith Crisco ‘64, Hal McManus, Art Small ‘67 and Bill Wynne ‘66.


Admissions Hosts 162 Accepted Students on the Misenheimer Campus

IMG 8601 resized2On Sat. April 24, Pfeiffer University's Office of Admissions hosted Accepted Student Day on the Misenheimer Campus. This event is designed to provide accepted students the opportunity to meet with an advisor, register for classes, tour the residence halls and visit with representatives from financial aid and other offices.


Plans Underway for Homecoming 2012

homecoming logosPfeiffer University is pleased to announce that plans for Homecoming 2012, which will take place Sept. 28-30, are now underway.

Earlier this year, the Advancement Office sponsored a contest that allowed students to submit their theme ideas. I CARE ABOUT PFEIFFER BECAUSE…, submitted by senior Brad Kenn, was selected as the winning theme.


New Graduates Leave an Impressive Mark on Pfeiffer

Pfeiffer's newest alumni are on their way to becoming leaders in fields from business to religion a few standouts are:

a schroederresized2Arsena Todd Schroeder, Charlotte, N.C., Pfeiffer's first Knapp Scholar and Gates Millennium Scholar. Graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in communication studies, Arsena will head to UNC Charlotte next fall to earn a master's degree in school counseling with extended support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, administered through the United Negro College Fund. The Knapp Scholars Program, funded by the Knapp Family Foundation, in particular Pfeiffer trustee Robert D. Knapp and his wife Marcia, supports deserving low-income students  who have demonstrated extraordinary scholarship and extra-curricular achievement.  Arsena's career goals include opening a family counseling business with her husband, Stephen, who will graduate from Pfeiffer in December.


Class of 2012 Graduates Ready to Enter the Workforce, Continue Education and Take on the World

Brown Miller WheelerOn May 12, Pfeiffer University's 141 newest graduates crossed the stage to receive their undergraduate diplomas. The vast majority of the class of 2012 are from cities and towns across North Carolina. Approximately half of the class earned bachelor's degrees in business administration, criminal justice, elementary education, exercise science, psychology or sports management.
