Assistant Professor-Sociology/Criminal Justice
Pfeiffer University's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences is currently seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will responsible for teaching and advising undergraduate students, participating in curriculum/program development; delivering instruction through day, evening and possible online classes on both the Misenheimer and Charlotte campuses.
A PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology or related field is required (JD not acceptable), and candidates must be able to make useful links between these disciplines, with experience in both.
Responsibilities include teaching four courses per semester, advising undergraduate students, curriculum/program development, school and university faculty governance and other related duties as required. Demonstrated potential for strong teaching and qualify research is required. Also required is a commitment to the principles and practice of servant leadership in a church related university environment.
