N.C. Falconers Guild presents to Pfeiffer student at Gibson Lake House

falconryOn Sat., Feb. 9 the Center for Outdoor Leadership hosted several birds of prey, including Pfeiffer's mascot, the falcon, in a hands-on educational program at Gibson Lake House.


Students and community members who attended learned about various birds of prey including a Red Tail Hawk, European Eagle Owl and Peregrine Falcons. The presenter discussed differences in species, hunting habits and Falconry regulations. Afterward, those in attendance were able to watch the Harris Hawks fly in a hunt.

The program was led by North Carolina Falconers Guild President Bob Pendergrass and Steve Hughes.
