Make an Impact
Wondering what kind of impact you can have through one of Pfeiffer’s many ministries?
Over one spring break, the Francis Center for Servant Leadership and Peer Ministries from Pfeiffer University teamed up to take twelve students, one staff member, and one community member to Charleston, S.C. on an alternative break trip. The group spent four days volunteering at three service sites: Lowcountry Children's Museum, Lowcountry Food Bank and SCORE (South Carolina Oyster Restoration and Enhancement).
The group packaged more than 11,200 pounds of citrus fruit for the food bank, which was distributed to food pantries and soup kitchens along the South Carolina coast. With the help of a high school group from North Carolina, they also filled 573 five-gallon bags of oyster shells for SCORE. The bags were used to build shoreline habitat and prevent beach erosion.
