History Club

Are you a history buff?

Find yourself glued to CNN or debating current events? If you want to discuss politics, social justice issues and explore how historical events have shaped the current political, cultural and societal environment, the History Club is right for you.

The History Club promotes the appreciation and value of the study of history — for majors and nonmajors alike. The faculty advisor is open to suggestions from current members regarding how the club spends its time, so this is an opportunity to get involved on the ground level.

In the past, the club has:

  • Visited area historic sites
  • Volunteered at Historic Gold Hill and the Stanly County Museum
  • Hosted campus movie nights
  • Promoted participation in Phi Alpha Theta conferences (a national history honors society)
