A ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration was held on Aug. 29 to formally introduce students, staff and faculty to the vibrant and spacious new venue. Everyone celebrated with fantastic food and door prizes, including three iPods, were given away.

Dressed in their ceremonial regalia, Pfeiffer graduates were supported by hundreds of family members and friends who attended the ceremonies. One-by-one graduates received their well-deserved diplomas representing more than 15 academic disciplines and a handshake from Pfeiffer President Dr. Chuck Ambrose, who delivered the keynote address.

Howard attended the annual conference as an at-large delegate from the Winston-Salem district. He was one of only 13 lay delegates elected and will join with 13 clergy delegates and the 12 other lay delegates to represent Methodists of Western North Carolina at General Conference, April 23-May 2, 2008 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dobbs comes to Pfeiffer from Peru State College in Nebraska, where he served as head coach for both the women's basketball and women's golf teams.

Some of the counselors traveled from as far as New Jersey, but they were all smiles as they filed out of a large charter bus. The bus tour is coordinated by NCICU and allows counselors to visit the campuses of 13 independent institutions in just five days.
