Pfeiffer University’s Department of Education will offer weekly after-school STEM (Science, Math, Engineering and Technology) sessions for students ages 6-10 and 10-14 starting later this month, at G.A. Pfeiffer Library on Pfeiffer’s Misenheimer campus. The STEMS clubs will take place on Tuesdays throughout the 2016-17 academic year.

Pfeiffer University will honor the work and commitment of officers and civilian employees of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina Air National Guard (NCANG), on Wed., Oct. 12, 3-7 p.m., at a drop-in thank-you reception at its Charlotte campus, 4701 Park Road.

This weekend, Pfeiffer University celebrated Homecoming with nearly 500 alumni, students, faculty members and staff, who attended events on Friday evening and all day Saturday. This year’s theme, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” honored the accomplishments and lives of everyone who is part of the Pfeiffer family.

Pfeiffer University remembers Rev. Reginald James “Reggie” Cooke, a member of the Pfeiffer Junior College class of 1951 and the board of trustees from 1990-2000, who died on Sept. 27.

Rev. Cooke was born Aug. 2, 1931 in Maiden, N.C.; he earned a scholarship to Pfeiffer, which he recalled in a 2012 letter to the university.

Harvey, a veteran of ten NBA seasons and former broadcaster for the Portland Trail Blazers, was the featured speaker at both a leadership conference for current Pfeiffer student-athletes and the season kick-off of Events Plus, Pfeiffer’s annual dinner and speaker series.
