Homeschooling Parent magazine has awarded Pfeiffer University its 2016 Seal of Approval, a designation given to colleges and universities that support homeschooling families.
Friendly to homeschool families, Pfeiffer actively recruits these students alongside those with traditional K-12 experiences. Scholarship support is available to deserving, high-performing homeschool students.
“Pfeiffer University recognizes that the talents of successful home-educated students as different from but equitable to their traditionally educated counterparts, with homeschool students often outperforming those who attended traditional schools academically,” said Dr. Christopher Parker, vice president for enrollment services. “Our nurturing campus environment, small classes, individual attention and diverse student body align well with the goals of many homeschool families, making Pfeiffer a great choice for their child’s undergraduate education.”
Typically, Pfeiffer reviews a homeschool student’s credentials on an individual basis. Application to Pfeiffer requires an application for admission (pfeiffer.edu), essay or writing sample, one or more letters of recommendation, copies of all nationally standardized test results, an outline of all courses taken at the high school level (this may be a transcript) or a portfolio, transcripts for courses completed at any high school or college, and a list of extracurricular activities or a resume.
