The love of soccer brought them together. Now, five Pfeiffer alums are sharing the spirit of the sport with others through their involvement with Peacepassers.org, a non-profit that connects children in underserved communities with gently used soccer gear.

February 16, 2019 (Misenheimer, N.C.) - Legendary North Carolina baseball coach Joe Ferebee celebrated his 100th birthday among family and friends. Former players led by Pfeiffer University alumnus Bob Gulledge, class of 1968, hosted a birthday celebration at Stanly Manor in Albemarle, North Carolina where coach Joe Ferebee resides.

Coach John Francis Essic, 93, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2018. He was born May 29, 1925, in Davie County to the late John Frank and Mary Lois McMath Essic. He received his B.S. in Physical Education in 1948 and an M.A. in History in 1950 both from App. St. Teachers College.

Due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Florence, all classes will move to online-only status and a voluntary evacuation will be effective Wednesday, September 12th at 6 pm. There will be no seated classes at the Misenheimer, Charlotte, or Raleigh campus after Wednesday at 6 pm. Students will be responsible for keeping up with coursework remotely whenever possible.

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer President Dr. Colleen Keith has announced the promotion of Danielle Lafferty to the position of Athletic Director. Lafferty had served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Pfeiffer for the past two-and-a-half years under former VP for Athletics Bob Reasso.

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – VP for Athletics Bob Reasso has announced his resignation to become the Athletic Director at The American University in Cairo, Egypt. Reasso served for five years at Pfeiffer and acted as the men’s soccer coach for four years.

Pfeiffer University announces it has enrolled the largest undergraduate class in over 30 years and increased incoming graduate students by 65 percent. The undergraduate freshman class increase grew by 29 percent compared to last year’s class and overall undergraduate enrollment increased by 4 percent.

A new book is raising funds for the family of former Pfeiffer University student Dalton Edwards, who is battling hepatocellular carcinoma. Statesville Free News recently announced the publication of A Warrior's Life: The Dalton Edwards Story, a book chronicling the Statesville teen's nearly four-year battle with cancer.
