On Friday, June 6, 2008, the Western North Carolina Annual Conference commissioned the largest class of probationary deacons in the history of the conference and potentially the denomination. Six of the eight probationers are graduates of the MCE program of Pfeiffer University and seven participated in the Center for Deacon Education partnership with Wesley Seminary.
