Samuel Barker ’18 is taking the notion of “Beyond Boundaries” to a new level—first to Washington D.C., and now Oxford University. A mathematics major from Gold Hill, N.C., who plans to pursue a doctorate in economics, Sam is demonstrating that his Pfeiffer experience is preparing him to apply classroom knowledge to very real situations.

Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, president of Pfeiffer University, has been elected to the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) Board of Directors. President Keith will serve a three-year term from January 2017 to January 2020. The elections were held during a meeting of the Board of Directors at CIC’s 2017 Presidents Institute in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 4.

Dianne Daniels, Ph.D., R.N., C.N.E., associate professor and chair of Pfeiffer University’s nursing program, has been appointed to the Stanly County Board of Health. Dr. Daniels, whose three-year term began Jan. 5, fills a position reserved on the 11-member board for nursing representation.
