About the Program

The Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Pfeiffer is designed to prepare graduate students as marriage and family therapists and agents of positive change to work specifically with individuals, couples, and families in a wide variety of work settings. The mission of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program is to provide effective clinical and academic training to students who affirm the dignity and integrity of all individuals and who demonstrate respect for diversity through life-long learning and the competent practice of marriage and family therapy.  The MFT Program is intended to meet the academic and experiential requirements for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of North Carolina, and to prepare students for the national examination in Marital and Family Therapy.  In collaboration with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the Pfeiffer University MFT Program is an accredited MFT Graduate School approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).
