Pfeiffer University Homecoming 2013 "Celebrates the Village"

Pfeiffer University's annual Homecoming activities are scheduled for Fri., Sept. 27 and Sat., Sept. 28 on its Misenheimer campus (48380 U.S. Hwy 52N). This year's theme, "Celebrate the Village,"honors the 10th anniversary of the incorporation of the village of Misenheimer and the unique relationship that Pfeiffer shares with the community.

Homecoming weekend events start officially on Fri., Sept. 27 with the annual Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Stokes Student Center, Community Room, 7 p.m. Inductees include Lyndsey  Boswell '05, Larry Sedberry '51, Monte Sherrill '87, Hal Sparks '65, and a special recognition for the 1981 women's field hockey national championship team.

The entire community is invited to participate in Saturday's Homecoming events. Special alumni athletics events and NCAA Division II games are free. Activities for families include a KidZone with face painting and games near the athletics fields as well as a photo booth and caricature artist in Stokes Student Center. Live music will be available on the Front Lawn/north side of campus: 11:30/Brain Trust Bluegrass Band; 1:30/Lions and Liars; 3:30/Fictive Kin.

"Pfeiffer University and the village of Misenheimer are linked by proximity, in spirit, and through hundreds of alumni who live and work throughout Stanly County," said President Michael C. Miller. "Alumni returning to campus from points near and far are excited to visit both campus and the community that made an impact on them during their Pfeiffer experience. We look forward to seeing returning students and community members at Homecoming."
