Center for Professional Advancement to host Beat Unemployment seminar for job seekers

twostudents resizedOn Wed., Feb. 27, Pfeiffer University's Center for Professional Advancement will host Beat Unemployment 101, a half-day seminar designed to help job seekers succeed in today's market. Professionals of all experience levels—from recent graduated to seasoned professionals—are encouraged to attend.

Session topics include: “Resume Dos and Don'ts,” Effective Networking,” "Using Social Media to Find Jobs" and “Interview Skills.” Afterward, workshop presenters and Stroker Jones & Associates will hold a question and answer session.

Additionally, the Center for Professional Advancement will accept resumes in advance for review and feedback at the event. Resumes may be submitted to

“Even though the economy is improving, the job market is still extremely competitive,” said Paulita Brooker, dean of continuing ed and adult studies. “The more tools job hunters have, the better they are able to distinguish themselves from other candidates."
