Center for Professional Advancement to host Beat Unemployment seminar for job seekers

On Wed., Feb. 27, Pfeiffer University's Center for Professional Advancement will host Beat Unemployment 101, a half-day seminar designed to help job seekers succeed in today's market. Professionals of all experience levelsâ€”from recent graduated to seasoned professionalsâ€”are encouraged to attend.
Session topics include: â€œResume Dos and Don'ts,â€ Effective Networking,â€ "Using Social Media to Find Jobs" and â€œInterview Skills.â€ Afterward, workshop presenters and Stroker Jones & Associates will hold a question and answer session.
Additionally, the Center for Professional Advancement will accept resumes in advance for review and feedback at the event. Resumes may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
â€œEven though the economy is improving, the job market is still extremely competitive,â€ said Paulita Brooker, dean of continuing ed and adult studies. â€œThe more tools job hunters have, the better they are able to distinguish themselves from other candidates."
