On Sun., Oct. 7 at 7 p.m., the Pfeiffer University Concert Choir will present a memorial concert in Henry Pfeiffer Chapel to honor the life of Dr. David Kirby, Pfeiffer's director of instrumental music from 2005-2012. Dr. Kirby passed away suddenly in June.
The Concert Choir, along with select Pfeiffer faculty, staff and alumni soloists and instrumentalists, will perform John Rutter's Requiem, a piece composed as a service for the living, offering comfort to those remembering one who is lost.
“The enduring impression David left on the students, faculty and staff of Pfeiffer University overall and Department of Music in particular is remarkably palpable,†said Joseph Judge, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities. “Our musical tribute honors his many contributions to all our lives.â€
