Pfeiffer University and The Metro District will sponsor the 2012 George E. Thompson Proclamation Institute. Sessions will be held Aug. 29, Sept. 25 and Nov. 15 from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m at Pfeiffer's Charlotte Campus, 4701 Park Rd.
The Institute, which began three years ago, is geared towards deacons, elders and local pastors who are preparing for their commissioning and ordination. Those who are already ordained and would like a chance to refresh their knowledge in these areas are also welcome.
The focus of this year's institute will be Bible study formation, leadership, worship flow and sermon preparation. Guest speakers include members or former member of the Board of Ordained Ministry and Western North Carolina Conference.
“These events help prepare people to come before the Board of Ordained Ministry and enrich the ministry of local pastors and of those who are already ordained,†said Kathleen Kilbourne, director of the Center for Deacon Education.
All seminars are available online through the The Fishing Hole, a Western North Carolina Conference resource.
For additional information, contact Kathleen Kilbourne at (704) 945-7313 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
