The unlikely pair who touched the hearts of many and inspired the 2003 movie &quot;Radio,&quot; which starred Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ed Harris, will visit Pfeiffer University as part of its 13th annual Servant Leadership Week held Monday through Friday, Feb. 15-19. The event is free and open to the public.

Greetings!

One of the first things to be done for the new road construction will be replacing the water main along the Merner Terrace (the road by the Chapel).  The Pfeiffer North Stanly Water Association will start work on Monday at 6 a.m. There will be a water outage most of the day for the following facilities, Merner Center, Jane Freeman, Merner Gym and all houses on Merner Terrace.

Jan. 18, 2010 - It was only last month that many were rising before dawn, and standing in line for hours to get the precious H1N1 vaccine earmarked then for &quot;high risk&quot; populations. But now the flu vaccine is being made widely available to the public without restrictions. Pfeiffer's Health Services is also offering the H1N1 vaccine to its students, faculty and staff at no cost.

        <title>Meet the Provost</title>

        <description>
As a national leader in
college-based community and service learning, Dr. Tracy Espy was the first to
be appointed to the position of Vice President for Servant Leadership at Pfeiffer
and managed the university's Francis Center for Servant Leadership. In that
role she formulated plans that further implemented the concepts of servant
leadership in all aspects of Pfeiffer's day-to-day operations through various
workshops and training programs. 


Espy has published on the topic of
service learning and servant leadership and was recently named editor of
&quot;Parnterships: A Journal of Service Learning and Civic Engagement,&quot; a
national journal. She has been invited to present during the National Campus
Compact Professional Development Institute hosted by Brown University in June. 


An accomplished and respected
professor, researcher, and administrator, Espy earned a Master of Arts degree
and a Ph.D. from Syracuse University, a Master of Science degree from Miami
University in Ohio and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Berea College in
Kentucky. She and her husband, Marvin, live in Charlotte with their daughter
Sydney.
