Heart of Grace Awards 2014
Every spring, Pfeiffer University’s Charlotte campus celebrates the achievements of select women whose lives and work embody a spirit of servant leadership in their communities and the world.
Recipients of this honor, The Heart of Grace Award, are chosen for the ways they confront social problems with effective systematic solutions, inspire others to believe they can make a difference and achieve positive results, and bring diverse groups of people together. They are persons from whom others can learn important lessons and who want to learn from others. Most important, their contributions are sustainable beyond an individual effort.
This year, Pfeiffer honors Susan Andersen, founder the ANSWER Scholarship Endowment, a Charlotte-based nonprofit organization managed by the Foundation of the Carolinas that provides scholarship support to women with school-age children who also possess a desire to earn a college degree. Since 2006, 53 ANSWER scholarships have been awarded to Charlotte-area women, many of whom have graduated and are working in their chosen professions.
