Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science

Promote healthy living. Coach athletes. Inspire positive change.

Our health and exercise science degree program provides basic theory and application for the fast-growing fields of exercise science, fitness leadership and exercise physiology.

Learn about the scientific foundation in the structure and function of the human body, including the physical changes that occur with activity and nutritional variations. Master methods of measuring and evaluating the various components of fitness and assess fitness statuses, evaluate progress and design programs appropriate for improving fitness levels.

Pfeiffer’s undergraduate health and exercise science program, in the division of applied sciences, is available at the Misenheimer campus. Gain real world experience working with our student athletes and campus coaches by joining the Athletic Ministries at Pfeiffer (AMP) or the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

Curriculum

The health and exercise science program curriculum requires a minimum investment of 73 semester hours (SH). In addition to health and exercise science, the curriculum includes instruction in several aspects of business, computing and statistics.

Interested in a career as a fitness coach, sports medicine advisor, rehabilitation facilitator or another aspect of exercise physiology?
