From Mexico to Misenheimer and Back

In 2011, Jazmine Sanchez Linares, a bilingual education major at Universidad Madero in Mexico, heard about Pfeiffer University during a trip to Nashville. By spring 2012, she was living on the Misenheimer campus, busy with internships at an after-school program at Albemarle Middle School and volunteering with Sunday School at Marvin Methodist Church, a multicultural congregation in Winston-Salem, through that city's Hispanic Ministry.


The Village Church Celebrates First Infant Baptism

dentons2 resizedOn Wed., April 11, The Village Church celebrated Dax Denton's baptism, the first infant baptism on record. Dax is the son of Sarah Denton, coordinator of student organizations and ministries and Elijah Denton, head women's soccer coach. Pastors Dana McKim and Sherri Barns presided over the ceremony.



Making a Difference Around the World

Christian Missionaries Commissioned resizedOn Aug. 24, The Village Church hosted a sendoff celebration for newly-commissioned mission interns and recent Pfeiffer graduates Nick Haigler, Joy Prim and Alex Devoid.  Each holds a bachelor's degree from Pfeiffer University and will be working in the missionary field domestically and abroad as part of Global Ministries, the global missions agency of the United Methodist Church.
