Christian Missionaries Commissioned resizedOn Aug. 24, The Village Church hosted a sendoff celebration for newly-commissioned mission interns and recent Pfeiffer graduates Nick Haigler, Joy Prim and Alex Devoid.  Each holds a bachelor's degree from Pfeiffer University and will be working in the missionary field domestically and abroad as part of Global Ministries, the global missions agency of the United Methodist Church.

Nick Haigler is currently working as a service and outreach coordinator at the L'viv United Methodist church, which serves a large downtown population of young people in L'viv, Ukraiine.

Joy Prim is serving with the Mission for Migrant Workers, an organization dedicated to helping migrants in crisis, nearly all female, in Hong Kong.  The Mission is dedicated to providing emergency assistance and legal services to those in need.

Alex Devoid is working as a facilitator for communications and visiting mission volunteers at Acción Médica Cristiana in Nicaragua. This organization was established in 1984 to provide pro-bono services to people in impoverished communities in Nicaragua. Its multidisciplinary staff of health professionals emphasizes the health of women, children, and adolescents.
